Lake Como

I took this photo on our boat cruise in Lake Como, Italy. It was such a gorgeous day so we could clearly see alps behind the hills that surround the lake. Lake Como makes my list of favorite places I visited because of views like this that we got to see all day.

Eery Loch Ness

I took this photo of castle remains in Loch Ness. It was here where many people have claimed to see the Loch Ness Monster in the water.

Loch Ness

I took this photo on our boat that my mom and I took through Loch Ness in the Scotland Highlands. The picture of the life saver documents my time spent at the Lochs and our trip up to Inverness.

Family in England

I took this photo of my homestay parents here in Alnwick. When my mom came during the two week break we spent many nights at their house for dinner and I took this picture on our last night there. They are two great people and have helped make my experience here in England.

Holy Lamb

I took this photo of a baby lamb on Holy Island. We have sheep in Minnesota, but never have I been so close or seen so many baby lambs than I did on our visit to Holy Island and the farm. They were all so cute.

When in Paris...

I took this night shot of the outside of the Moulin Rouge in Paris, France. It was so neat to see the movie Moulin Rouge and then actually getting to see the building in real life.

City Walls

I took this photo while walking the city walls of York. The old walls that once enclosed the city are now available for the public to walk around. I thought the color of the bricks were neat and having a photo of the wall made for a neat memory of being in York over my break.

Garden Fountain

I took this photo of one of the many fountains located in the Alnwick Castle Gardens. Each fountain at the gardens is so pretty and designed in such a unique way.

St. Marks Bell Tower

I took this photo of St. Marks Bell Tower at St. Marks Square in Venice, Italy. I had taken this photo for a picture of the tower (not realizing the pillar in the photo), but when looking through my pictures later on I really liked the composition of the picture.

A View of the Market from Above

I took this photo in the Alnwick town centre. Every Saturday morning and afternoon there is a market where people sell flowers, vegetables, jewelry, scarves, and much more!

Venice

This is one of my favorite photos. I took this photo in St. Marks Square in Venice, Italy looking out at the water. The sun was shining, which made the water look incredibly blue. I've never seen a prettier landscape than I had when I took this photo.

The Duomo

I took this photo of the Duomo in Milan, Italy. This church was so gorgeous and I could not believe all the intricate work that was done on the top to create this structure.

I Love Britain

I took this photo on a boat cruise through Loch Ness in the Scotland Highland tours. I thought that the Britain flag blowing in the wind off the back of the boat made for a neat snap shot.

Wedding Day in Milan

I took this photo outside the Duomo in Milan, Italy. This bride and groom, surrounded by hundreds of people and pigeons in the city centre, were getting their wedding photos done while holding the birds. Something I would not do in my wedding dress, but I thought that they looked as though they were having so much fun.

Hamish the Bull

I took this photo in the Scotland Highlands of Hamish the Bull. He is fenced in next to a top tourist stop. Our tour guide said Hamish loves to get his picture taken so I took a shot of him for my wildlife photo.

The Sparkling Tower

I took this night shot at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. At the beginning of every hour the tower starts flashing white lights so that it looks as though it is sparkling. This was a gorgeous site and something I will remember forever.

Wine in Venice

I took this photo of my first real glass of Italian wine. Five of us girls sat by the Rialto bridge in Venice sipping our wine and enjoying a gorgeous sunny day. I thought the sun shining on the glass, illuminating different colors in the wine made for a neat photo.

Puddle Jumping

I took this photo of a young girl jumping in water puddles at the Alnwick Garden. She was so cute that people were crowded around watching and taking pictures. I loved the action shot of her playing in the water with the water pouring down over her head.

Tower of Coffee Cups

I took this photo in Milan, Italy. There was a tower of coffee cups with a kettle on top right in the middle of a square of buildings. There was no sign so we didn't know what it was meant for, but the structure of it was so neat, especially looking at it from a lower angle.

The Duchess's View

I took this photo in the Alnwick Garden when we went as a group to the Duchess's View Point. I thought the scenery from this point was fun to see, considering we got to see the pasture and a view of the castle from a different angle.

Gorgeous London

I took this landscape photo in London. It was a gorgeous day and I loved walking along the river while looking at all the neat architecture.

Big Ben

I took this photo of Big Ben in London. It was one of my favorite structures in London. Also, when arriving to London on the plane, this was the first thing I saw out the window and will be something I will remember forever.

Love for a Child

I took this picture of a statue portrayed in the Louvre in Paris. I found this to be an eye catching statue because of the bond that one can see between the man and the small child.

Walking the Streets of Paris

I took this photo of people crossing a busy street in Paris. I thought not only the people, but the background made for a neat picture.

Swans at the Palace

I took this picture at Hampton Court Palace in London. It was a gorgeous sunny day and playing with the swans was the highlight of my friends and I's day. They're gorgeous animals and I was surprised as to how close they would let us get.

National Gallery

I took this photo outside of the National Gallery on our last night in London. I thought that the dark blue sky and golden lights made for a pretty night shot.

Full Growth

I took this photo in the conservatory at the Syon House in London. I thought the colors and the lines of the plant made for a neat abstract photo.

Always on the Go

I took this photo on one of the main walking streets in London. The street was filled with runners and people going in and out of shops and restaurants. I was so surprised how many joggers there were in London and I wanted to capture that as a motion shot.

The Eiffel in Pari'

I took this photo at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower at night. After seing postcards with the Eiffel Tower portrayed in black and white, it inspired me to take a black and white photo of the tower lit up.

Made it to the Top

I took this photo in London as a high angle camera shot. It was taken from the top of St. Paul's Cathedral. I thought the shadow of the Cathedral casted on the buildings made for a neat picture.

Tenerife Coastline

I took this photo walking along the ocean coast in Tenerife, Spain. This was one of my favorite pictures from my trip so I wanted to include it in my blog. I thought the sun on the water was gorgeous and the wind blowing the palm trees.

Place for Prayer

I took this photo of some ruins left at the old Monk's place in Hulne Park, here in Alnwick. I liked this picture because of the bright blue sky and the look of the shadow casted on the ruins.

Praying Statue

I took this photo of a praying statue at the old Monk's place in Hulne Park. You can't see it but I loved the expression on this statues face and wanted to include it in my blog. I thought it made for a neat photo with the small arch enclosing the statue.

Working in the Gardens

I took this photo at the Alnwick Castle Gardens of a crew working on a new site. At first I took this picture for a horizontal shot, but then liked it as a people shot also.

Cow Grazing

I took this photo of the cows grazing in Hulne Park. I thought it made for a neat shot because of the contrast of different colors of the cows and I liked that the cows were looking at the camera for the picture.

The Dark Forest

I took this photo in a dark forest and I thought that the flash from the camera portrayed on the trees with the contrast of the dark background made for a neat shot.

Story of the Wall

I took this photo at the old Monk's place in Hulne Park. There was an engraving in the wall and some of the words were hard to make out, but I thought the raised texture was really neat.

River Run Wild

I took this picture of the river running through Hulne Park, here in Alnwick. I thought the reflection on the water was really neat and also the different colors portrayed from the sunlight.

Ruins

I took this photo at the old Monk's place in Hulne Park. I thought the run down structures were really cool to see and I thought this picture was set up for a good low angle shot.

Mossy

I took this photo as a high camera angle shot. I took it at the old Monk's place in Hulne Park and I liked this photo because of all the different textures and colors.

Paradise

I took this photo on the coast of the ocean in Tenerife, Spain. The water was gorgeous and I wanted to capture the waves crashing into the rocks. I thought this was a good landscape photo because it includes the ocean, buildings, hills, and the sky all in one photo.

Home Sweet Homes

I took this photo to portray architecture/structure. This is a photo of apartments located in Tenerife, Spain. I have always loved the Spanish looking style of structure that one can find throughout Spain, Mexico, Arizona, etc.

Guarder of the Cave

I took this photo of the rock statue that stood next to the cave on our hike through Hulne Park. I thought the look on the man's face, his posture, and where he stood could tell a story, so I wanted to take this photo as my still life object.

Boat Tour

I took this photo of a couple that was on our boat tour in Tenerife. I liked the composition of the picture with the sail on the left and the people gazing out towards the coast of Tenerife on the right.

Whale Gazing

I took this photo of a whale that we got to see on our boat tour in Tenerife. The sun on the water was gorgeous and about 7 whales swam up next to the boat. Getting to see whales, along with dolphins, was one of the highlights of my trip.

Sunset in Tenerife

I took this photo in the Canary Islands the night we arrived. This was the view from our apartment and the first thing we saw when we walked outside. The town was dark but the sunset over the ocean was gorgeous. I took this photo for my night shot to remember the first sunset I saw in Tenerife.

Balcony in Spain

I took this photo on the balcony of our apartment in the Canary Islands. I think the structure of homes, buildings, and other architecture in Spain is really neat and I wanted to capture this style close up.

Windy Day in the Woods

I took this photo on our walk through Hulne Park. The limbs of the pine tree were blowing in the wind and I thought that it would make for an interesting motion shot by capturing the swaying branches.

The Duke's Tower

I took this photo of the tower in Hulne Park. After an hour long hike it was great to finally see it. I liked the structure of the tower and thought the photo portrayed a good low camera angle shot.

View From Above

I took this photo from up in a tower looking down on a tree. I thought the composition of the photo was neat. I liked how the top of the tree covers the picture, but the small base of the tree is portrayed at the bottom. I also liked all the different colors in this photo and thought it to be a good high angle camera shot.
